What Is the Story and Setting of Valor Mortis?

In Valor Mortis, players take control of William, an undead soldier of the Grande Armée who died in service to Napoleon Bonaparte. Resurrected on a scarred battlefield, William returns to an alternate 19th-century Europe completely transformed by an apocalyptic plague.
