What Is the Plot of the Golden Axe Animated Series?
Paying homage to SEGA’s legendary 1989 arcade beat ’em up, the animated comedy reunites Yuria’s legendary trio of heroes: barbarian Ax Battler, battle sorceress Tyris Flare, and dwarf warrior Gilius Thunderhead. Together, they must team up once again to defeat their immortal arch-nemesis, the giant tyrant Death Adder.
The group’s mission becomes far more chaotic with the addition of Hampton Squib, an overeager, hopelessly underprepared rookie adventurer who joins the party believing he is destined for greatness. Despite their obvious personality clashes and combat shortcomings, the misfit squad must band together to save the realm from total destruction.
Who Is in the Voice Cast for the Golden Axe Series?
The project features a talented comedic ensemble bringing SEGA’s classic characters to life:

- Danny Pudi (Community) as Hampton Squib, a naive first-time adventurer whose confidence outstrips his abilities.

- Liam McIntyre (Spartacus) as Ax Battler, a honor-bound barbarian whose muscles easily outmatch his brainpower.
- Carl Tart (Grand Crew) as Chronos “Evil” Lait, the fan-favorite humanoid panther originating from Golden Axe III.
