Hit Romcom Light Novel My Sweet Marriage to My Ex-Nemesis Officially Gets TV Anime Adaptation

Kadokawa has officially confirmed that the popular romantic comedy light novel series My Sweet Marriage to My Ex-Nemesis (Soshiki no Shukuteki to Kekkon Shitara Mecha Amai) by Toshimichi Uzō is being adapted into a television anime. Lead studio EMT Squared is producing the animation with assistance from Ankichi Kobo.

The reveal arrived with a promotional teaser trailer, high-profile staff confirmations, and celebration artwork. While release dates and voice cast members remain under wraps, anime fans can look forward to an explosive mix of superpowered rivalries, domestic comedy, and heartfelt romance.

What Is My Sweet Marriage to My Ex-Nemesis About?

The story focuses on Roshi Saigawa and Ritsuka Nagira, two former elite fighters who once belonged to opposing secret organizations. Respected and feared on the battlefield under their respective codenames, “Feather Hunter” and “White Demon,” their lives revolved around constant battles, strategic clashes, and an intense rivalry.

Everything changes after their rival groups dissolve. The former arch-nemeses fall in love, put down their weapons, and trade battle lines for wedding vows.

Life at home brings its own chaos. Transitioning from superpowered combatants to a newly married couple living a peaceful suburban life creates endless comedic misunderstandings. Old rivalries resurface, hidden secrets linger, and both protagonists must learn to navigate domestic tasks, unresolved tensions, and awkward romance.

When Did the Light Novel and Manga First Release?

Toshimichi Uzō originally launched the My Sweet Marriage to My Ex-Nemesis light novel series in October 2023 under Kadokawa’s Dengeki Bunko imprint, featuring illustrations by Kei Hayashi. Following the light novel’s rapid success, a manga adaptation illustrated by artist Shīme began serialization in Dengeki Maoh magazine in November 2024.

An English localization for the manga was licensed by One Peace Books, making the print release accessible to international readers.
