Leaked Final Trailer Reveals $70 Campaign Shift for Canceled Transformers: Reactivate
Leaked final trailer for canceled Transformers: Reactivate surfaces online! Discover story campaign shifts, studio details, and footage.
An unreleased final trailer for Transformers: Reactivate, the high-profile action title canceled by developer Splash Damage in January 2025, has surfaced online. Published via social media platform X, the leaked footage provides the most complete look yet at the abandoned project. According to opening text on the video, the internal trailer was assembled approximately three months prior to cancellation. The leak reveals that during its final year of development, the project pivoted away from its initial free-to-play model to become a full-priced $70 AAA title featuring a story-driven campaign playable solo or in online co-op.

What Does the Leaked Transformers: Reactivate Trailer Reveal About Gameplay?
Initially revealed during The Game Awards in December 2022 as a live-service cooperative action game, Transformers: Reactivate underwent significant internal retools before development was halted.
The newly leaked internal trailer presents polished third-person combat featuring iconic Autobots, including Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and Ironhide, engaged in battle against an invading alien faction known as The Legion. Notably, the footage showcases dynamic transformations between robot and vehicle forms during active combat, destructible urban environments across New York and Cybertron, and narrative sequences depicting Autobots allying with Megatron and Decepticon forces to resist a common enemy.
Why Was Transformers: Reactivate Canceled by Splash Damage?
Development on Transformers: Reactivate officially ended on January 8, 2025. Studio leadership at UK-based developer Splash Damage confirmed the decision was part of a strategic restructuring to focus resources on core original projects, which unfortunately resulted in staff redundancies.
While the leaked footage represents a more complete build than early 2024 gameplay leaks, there are no active plans to revive the project, and no secondary publisher has picked up the license.
