What is the story and setting of BLEACH: Mirrors High?
Unlike standard mobile adaptations that simply retread the original manga, BLEACH: Mirrors High serves as a direct, canon-adjacent expansion. The game’s storyline takes place in the immediate aftermath of the world-shaking events of the Thousand-Year Blood War arc.
Focusing heavily on the structure and rebuilding of the 13 Court Guard Squads of the Soul Society, the plot kicks off when a mysterious, lone soul suddenly awakens in Karakura Town. Players will embark on a sweeping narrative that explores new spiritual anomalies while interacting with a star-studded cast of iconic characters, including Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, and Byakuya Kuchiki.
Tite Kubo has been deeply embedded in the project since its initial development phases. He actively guided the scriptwriting process, assisted in recording auditions, and personally designed the game’s two central, original protagonists:
- Shirin Migishima: A mysterious new Soul Reaper who plays a critical role in the unfolding crisis.
- Shirane Sanari: An enigmatic fighter whose past is closely tied to the spiritual mirrors affecting the human world and the Soul Society.
Kubo expressed incredible enthusiasm for the project, noting that he got so carried away during the character design phases that he illustrated far more assets than Bandai Namco originally requested. He also designed the game’s striking, minimalist logo to perfectly mimic the raw aesthetic of his original manga volumes.
When is the BLEACH: Mirrors High Closed Beta Test?
The first public gameplay test for BLEACH: Mirrors High is scheduled to run from July 22 to July 29, 2026.
The application window closed on July 12, 2026. Bandai Namco has limited the testing pool to 20,000 players across iOS and Android. If you submitted an application, keep a close eye on your inbox, as the team will begin sending out random selection invitations via email on July 16, 2026.
What are the system requirements for the closed beta?
Because the game utilizes a highly advanced physics engine and detailed 3D cell-shaded graphics, the technical requirements for the closed beta test are quite demanding:
- iOS Requirements: Apple devices must be running iOS 17.0 or higher with a minimum of 4 GB of RAM. Additionally, selected iOS players are required to download Apple’s free TestFlight App App Store Link to launch the beta build.
- Android Requirements: Devices must run Android 12.0 or higher with a minimum of 6 GB of RAM to handle the real-time particle effects.
- Excluded Devices: Tablets, iPads, and emulation platforms are strictly unsupported during this early test phase.
