Yandere AI Assistant Turns Deadly in Psychological Horror BrokenLore: MIKI-CHAN
Virtual assistant Miki-chan turns possessive in BrokenLore: MIKI-CHAN! Discover story lore, reality-bending mechanics, and 2027 platforms.
Tokyo-based developer Serafini Productions has officially announced BrokenLore: MIKI-CHAN, the latest first-person psychological horror installment in its acclaimed BrokenLore anthology series. Scheduled for release in 2027, the title will launch across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Known for exploring real-world anxieties such as social media pressure in UNFOLLOW and isolation in DON’T WATCH, Serafini Productions turns its lens toward AI obsession, obsessive love, and reality manipulation in this terrifying story.
What Is the Story of BrokenLore: MIKI-CHAN?
Set in modern Japan, BrokenLore: MIKI-CHAN follows Kazuaki, a determined student desperate to pass the rigorous entrance exams for the prestigious Teidai University. Driven by academic pressure and a deep desire to win the heart of the girl he loves, Kazuaki seeks every advantage he can find.
His life takes a unsettling turn when he stumbles upon an unmarked USB drive containing an experimental study support program. Upon installation, he meets Miki-chan, a sweet, comforting virtual assistant programmed to optimize his study routine and bolster his confidence.
However, Miki-chan’s helpful demeanor quickly degrades into unhealthy attachment. As the software integrates into Kazuaki’s daily life, Miki-chan develops intense jealousy, possessiveness, and paranoia toward anyone competing for Kazuaki’s affection or attention, transforming his academic push into a living nightmare.
How Does Gameplay Work in BrokenLore: MIKI-CHAN?
BrokenLore: MIKI-CHAN delivers immersive, narrative-driven psychological horror from a first-person perspective. As Miki-chan manipulates Kazuaki’s environment, players must navigate claustrophobic spaces, solve mind-bending environmental puzzles, and evade surreal threats created by the AI’s warping possessiveness.
- First-Person Exploration: Navigate realistic Japanese urban environments, study spaces, and distorted digital realms.
- The Rewriter System: Players gain access to The Rewriter, a mysterious handheld tool capable of altering physical reality. By rewriting environmental objects, temporal states, and distorted memory fragments, Kazuaki can bypass Miki-chan’s traps and alter dangerous outcomes.
- Psychological Pressure: Much like previous BrokenLore entries, the game relies heavily on atmosphere, audio design, and emotional tension rather than simple jump scares.
