Independent game developer Spry Fox (the Netflix Games-owned studio behind Cozy Grove and Triple Town) has announced that its upcoming cozy multiplayer life-simulator, Spirit Crossing, will officially launch on November 16, 2026. The online social sandbox is coming simultaneously to Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Built over five years of development, Spirit Crossing offers an inviting cloudscape sandbox where players can craft homes, complete spirit quests, paint murals, and forge genuine online friendships.

How Do Social Systems and Relationship Progression Work in Spirit Crossing?
Designed explicitly to promote togetherness and lessen online loneliness, Spirit Crossing places player relationships at the core of its design.
In the shifting lands of the Crosslands, strangers initially appear as gray silhouettes. By engaging in small acts of kindness, such as fishing together or sharing a campfire, silhouettes bloom into full color, revealing the player behind. As friendship bonds grow, players unlock functional social mechanics:
- Relationship Perks: Gradual friendship progression unlocks direct proximity voice chat, two-player co-op gestures, gift exchanges, and instant friend teleportation.
- Customizable Social Permissions: For introverted players or those seeking quiet solitude, a comprehensive social permissions system lets users adjust their visibility and opt out of meeting strangers whenever desired.
- Shared Community Activities: Players can join fishing tournaments, co-paint public wall murals with neighbors, or relax near communal bonfires to listen to music at sunrise.
What Building, Customization, and NPC Quests Are Available in Spirit Crossing?
Beyond multiplayer socializing, Spirit Crossing provides extensive avatar and environmental customization.
Customization and World Building:
- Avatars and Fashion: Players can design detailed outfits and hairstyles tailored for every occasion, from elegant formalwear to casual game-night attire or gothic picnic styles.
- Personal and Community Spaces: Players can build and decorate homesteads on mountain peaks or collaborate on community Waystations, populating spaces with furniture, trinkets, plants, and lamps.
- Charming Inhabitants: The Crosslands are populated by charming NPCs, ranging from talking humans and fuzzy bears to wandering spirits. By showing patience and completing restoration quests, players earn their trust, unlocking unique story reveals and reward items.
Cozy game fans can check out Spirit Crossing on Steam today to play the ongoing demo prior to its November 16 launch across PC and Nintendo consoles.
